“And may the Lord make you increase and abound in love toward one another and toward everyone, just as we also do toward you.”
1 Thessalonians 3:12
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Paul wrote this after Timothy brought back a hopeful report from the young church in Thessalonica. The believers were holding firm under pressure, yet Paul still prayed that their love would not stay small or inward. He wanted that love to widen—first among them, then toward people outside their circle.
Reflection
Who is one person outside your usual circle whose need you have noticed, and what concrete act of care would show that your love is meant to overflow?
A prayer
Lord, widen my heart. Where I have kept love small, teach me to notice someone and serve them without waiting to feel ready.
Carry it with you
Choose one person you usually pass by and offer a specific kindness today: a meal, a message, or help with a task they cannot finish alone. Let that act stretch your care beyond the people who already feel easy to love.
