“In every deed that he began in the service of God's house, in the law and the commandments, to seek his God, he did it with all his heart and prospered.”
2 Chronicles 31:21
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Hezekiah was reforming Judah after years of neglect: restoring temple worship, organizing priests, and returning the people to Torah practice. Ancient kings were judged by whether they “sought” God in public duty, not private feeling. Wholehearted work was how covenant loyalty showed up in daily administration.
Reflection
Where are you starting something “for God” while keeping part of your heart elsewhere—and what would it look like to bring that last piece into the work?
A prayer
God, I want my work to match my seeking. Steady my heart so I don’t half-do what You’ve put in my hands. Amen.
Carry it with you
Pick one ordinary task today—an email, a chore, a conversation—and do it as service to God, without splitting your attention. Finish it fully before you start the next thing.
