“For Ezra had fixed his heart to seek the law of Yahweh, to follow it, and to teach decrees and ordinances in Israel.”
Ezra 7:10
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Ezra was a priest-scribe leading returning exiles from Persia to Jerusalem around 458 BC. In a culture rebuilding identity after displacement, he treated Torah not as private study but as a public trust: learn it, live it, then pass it on so the community could grow in covenant faithfulness.
Reflection
Where has seeking God’s instruction stopped at curiosity instead of becoming practice you could teach someone else today?
A prayer
God, settle my heart the way You settled Ezra’s. Help me hunt Your word, obey it without delay, and share it without pride.
Carry it with you
Choose one clear command you already know and act on it in a specific relationship today—then tell one person what you did and why. Let study move through your hands before it leaves your mouth.
