“And God is able to make all grace abound to you, that you always have all sufficiency in everything and abound in every good work.”
2 Corinthians 9:8
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Paul wrote this while urging Corinthian believers to finish a relief collection for impoverished Christians in Jerusalem. In a culture of honor, patronage, and scarce resources, he framed generosity not as loss but as participation in God’s own overflowing provision for others.
Reflection
Where are you holding back a small surplus—time, skill, or money—because you still feel you might not have “enough,” even though this verse says God supplies so you can overflow?
A prayer
God, you keep filling me when I feel thin. Use what I already have so someone else is not left empty.
Carry it with you
Pick one concrete need you can meet today—a meal, a bill, a ride, or an hour of help—and give it without announcing it. Let the overflow be quiet and specific.
