“He said to them, “The harvest is abundant, but the laborers few; therefore pray to the Lord of the harvest that he send laborers into his harvest.””

Luke 10:2

Lumin’s Faithful Translation

The setting

Jesus sent seventy-two followers ahead into towns he planned to visit. In first-century Galilee and Judea, harvest language pictured urgent, communal work that could not wait. He framed kingdom service as shared labor rather than a solo task.

Reflection

Where in your daily routine do you see grain already standing ready that you have been walking past?

A prayer

Lord, show me the work already waiting around me and give me courage to step into it without waiting for someone else.

Carry it with you

Name one person or need you will serve today—send a message, share a meal, or offer a skill—and treat it as part of the harvest rather than an extra chore.
