Paul wrote to a mixed community of Jewish and Gentile believers in Rome who were divided over dietary rules and sacred days. In the first-century house churches, these disagreements threatened unity and stalled their shared mission. He urged them to prioritize mutual strengthening over personal preferences so the whole body could mature together.
