“You killed the source of life, whom God raised from the dead. We are witnesses of this.”

Acts 3:15

Lumin’s Faithful Translation

The setting

This comes from Peter’s speech in the Jerusalem temple courts weeks after the resurrection. In first-century Jewish culture, the temple was the center of worship and public teaching. Peter points to the healing of a man lame from birth as proof of the risen Jesus’ power, contrasting the crowd’s role in the crucifixion with God’s decisive act. The verse shows the stark contrast between human rejection and God’s life-giving victory. Jesus is the true source of life, and the resurrection declares that death could not hold him. In this Easter season of renewal and hope, it invites us to live with fresh confidence that God brings life out of what seems destroyed and calls us to testify to his power in our everyday choices.

Reflection

How does the reality of the resurrection shape the way you face challenges today? What are you grateful for in this season of new life?

A prayer

Lord, thank you for raising Jesus, the source of life. Fill me with your resurrection hope and help me live as a witness to your victory today.
