“My Father is glorified in this: that you bear much fruit and become my disciples.”
John 15:8
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Jesus said this to his closest followers on the night before his death, using the image of a vineyard, something every Galilean knew well. Branches do not force fruit; they carry what the vine supplies. The “harvest” he meant was a life shaped by his character and given away for others, the visible proof that someone truly belongs to him.
Reflection
Where is your effort still trying to grow apart from the vine—and what would change if that work were meant to nourish someone else rather than prove you?
A prayer
Jesus, I keep trying to manufacture results on my own. Join my work to yours today. Let what grows in me actually feed someone else, and teach me as I go.
Carry it with you
Today, pick one ordinary task—a message, a meal, a meeting—and do it as service rather than self-display. Before you start, name one person who will be helped by how you handle it, and let that shape your tone and effort.
