“And let our people also learn to devote themselves to good works to meet urgent needs, so that they are not unfruitful.”
Titus 3:14
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Paul wrote this letter to Titus, who was organizing young churches on the island of Crete. Many new believers came from a culture known for laziness and empty talk, so Paul pressed them toward practical usefulness. Meeting real household and community needs was how faith became visible and lasting.
Reflection
Which “necessary need” near you have you noticed but left for someone else, and what would it look like to take the lead on it?
A prayer
God, show me the ordinary need I keep walking past. Give me the will to start and the stamina to finish it well.
Carry it with you
Pick one concrete need around you today—a neighbor’s errand, a coworker’s deadline, a family chore no one wants—and step in first without being asked. Follow through until the task is actually finished.
