“If anyone speaks, let him do so as God's oracles; if anyone serves, let him do so by the strength that God supplies, so that God may be glorified in all things through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion to the ages of ages. Amen.”

1 Peter 4:11

Lumin’s Faithful Translation

The setting

Peter wrote to believers scattered across Asia Minor who faced social pressure and suspicion. In that setting, ordinary speech and everyday acts of help were not private hobbies; they were public witnesses that God, not the surrounding culture, supplied both the words and the power.

Reflection

Where in your speech or service today are you still relying on your own supply instead of the strength God furnishes?

A prayer

God, I do not want to talk or serve on empty. Supply what I lack so that what I do today points back to you, not to me.

Carry it with you

Before you send a message or offer help today, pause and ask whether the words or the energy feel borrowed from God or merely from your own reserves. Then do the next small task—an email, a meal, a listening ear—as if God is the one underwriting it.
