“Maintain honorable conduct among the Gentiles, so that, although they slander you as wrongdoers, they may glorify God on the day of visitation by beholding your honorable deeds.”
1 Peter 2:12
Lumin’s Faithful Translation
The setting
Peter wrote to scattered believers living as minorities under Roman rule, often facing suspicion and slander for their faith. In that culture, public reputation and visible good works shaped how communities judged new religious groups. His call urged them to let everyday integrity silence critics and point people toward God.
Reflection
Which specific fine deed could someone watching your life today point to as evidence of the God you follow?
A prayer
God, help me live so clearly that my ordinary actions honor you and open eyes around me.
Carry it with you
Today notice one person outside your usual circle—a coworker, neighbor, or store clerk—and do one concrete kind act for them without announcing it. Let that quiet service become the evidence of your faith others can actually see.
