Their half-hearted worship masked deeper disobedience to covenant laws. Amid temple restoration, God urged true heart-change over rituals. God invites honest repentance, promising mutual restoration—our turn sparks His. In Lent's first week, this calls us to examine wanderings through prayer and fasting, trusting His eager return for renewal toward Easter hope.
